You made a specious causal link between this man’s misfortune and sin and his homosexuality in order take another shot at a social minority, and a largely productive and beneficial social minority at that.

You mentioned that homosexuals are preoccupied with sex, that any psychologist or sociologist would agree. Bullshit. Homosexuals are no more preoccupied with sex than heterosexuals, which is to say we’re all pretty preoccupied with sex. Mammals are like that.

What most of those experts and their studies will tell you is that the overwhelming majority of men who sexually abuse or prey on male and female children identify as heterosexual – and as heterosexuals very interested in the power they experience in their sexual domination of others.

You punks. You cowards. You refuse to share some real truth with your constituency. You get elected on agendas based in hate and fear, while you stiff the middle and working classes, mismanage our foreign and domestic policy, run our environment into the ground, and lie at every opportunity.

It’s almost impossible to process, to take it, this holier than thou, we’ll make government honorable again rhetoric of yours, and the sheer cognitive dissonance created by the gap between your words and your deeds.

Alcoholism is a disease. It’s a genetic and environmental disease. And alcohol, not homosexuality, affects our use of judgment, colors the world so that we will do and say things that we would not allow ourselves when sober. That’s the nature of the illness. And you didn’t take a shot at the alcoholics because that’s not politically advantageous for you, and because you do, in fact, understand that being an alcoholic is not a moral failing, while overcoming alcoholism is a personal and moral triumph.

Still, you are punks and cowards. You abuse at every turn your position and your privilege to speak, and for this you are morally accountable. You promise and refuse to act. You act without clear discussion. You dissemble at every opportunity.

The one trait that you have not spun about Foley’s behavior is this: he was cunning. It is in the nature of child predators and sexual predators of all stripes that they are cunning. They know how to seek their advantage. And boy did he! A man with a predilection for young men becomes the nation’s enforcer against child pornography? Perfect. It’s even better than a job as a grade school teacher.

What in the world were you people thinking???? Huh? Can you find any rational, moral, acceptably adult explanation to give?
