Puts me in mind of the Guerrilla Grrrls. Not my preferred version of the Feminine speaking back, but one not to ignore. In fact, one I also write from. See also Jorie Graham's poems featuring Orpheus and Eurydice. Meanwhile, the mystk sends this Non Sequitur (it' s the July 1 strip, should the link be inaccurate)Again, not my fave Feminine speaking, but hilarious.Invective- by Carrie ShipersYou poet-boys hoardingyour gorgeous, unfuckable sliversof muse -- I hope you slipand slit your throats, your thighsfrom knee to groin, your fragilepoems moaning the musegone missing, gone frigid -you need a crowbar to parther thighs, you write, a hangerto hold her open - and you, allblue balls and blue-ink fingers, aren't fit to fuck the groundshe walks on but can't helpyour hips pounding the dirt:fly open, mouth open, notebookopen and empty - I hopeshe never comes back.
As long as we're willfully stupid enough to think of love as a commodity limited in substance or style, we're screwed. That's the war: someone has to do the loving, someone has to be loved, but no one wants to be on both ends of that current. And yes, the boys set it up that way, but it can be un-set and re-set. Women might be venerated, but not really loved (being either Muse, Mother, or Stand in For God, or Chattle, in which cases: not-human). Sadly, unless we are, unless we're working with a complete circuit, there will be no light lighting us up, just the roiling sky of egotistical struggle for power. Tho, there might be some ruefully funny poetry and comics.
In Other News: Tomorrow I get to see a hometown friend for the first time in 10 years. She's all different now. Maybe I am too. We'll find out. Then more Arm Yoga. Then The Police with Speed Racer and two people yet to be announced (yes, Cognitive, I'll get pics). Then friends from Texas who need a tour of Goshen and STL, and who (oh, yay!) have never seen the fireworks on the river! So, Fireworks On The River! Wheeeeee!

You better get pics.
... or else.
Or else what?. Huh? What. ;-) Better be creative about it. I've been "or elsed" before.
I did. I'll share soon.
