Victory, Stein, Sally

Very Important Feminist has just emailed to say that she's definitely giving The Murdoch Anthology an essay!!!

Dude. Dude. This editing thing is getting to be really fun. Seriously, I'm getting to have all these wide/deep conversations with the authors, all of whom, (thanks be) are cheerful and engaging people with good ideas. Some of them are rather young academics, and sooooo I get to be all encouraging about how they really should add some space for What They Think in Implication from their arguments; rather than just the little critique. And they're all scared and thrilled and honored. How fun is that!?

Plus, VIF's essay and mine, it turns out, will make good companion pieces for each other.

Dude!

I quit. Stein needs to stew. I have some kind of freaky critical aphasia on this Stein thing, and whacking my forehead is no help. So on to Perse. Which, Amers (Seamarks), is like my favorite thing ever.

Hemingway is "forcing" me to drive Sally. He's concerned that driving my car, a standard, is dangerous for a shoulder as recently fragile as mine own. I know, Oh. Poor. Me. You're just welling up with sympathy, aren't you? AND today is one of those spring days that looks like the background in Disney animation. No wind. Sunny Sun. Bright, fresh newness everywhere. Birds singing. About 72F. Guess what I'm going to do today? That's right. I'm driving around for the fun of it. (And to get a medical records release form from my doc).

Hope there's some joy for you too.

(And there's a Contemporary American and World Lit in English gig at, GUESS!!!! GUESS!!!!! C'mon ..... The University of Limerick!!!!!!!!!!!!! In Eire!!!!!!! I am On That, Sisters and Brothers. ON THAT. )
