Tired of Confusing People, The Poet Buys Femmy Shoes
Shoes are for walking, and being brown and black. Shoes stabilize. Shoes adventurize. Shoes needn’t be blue or pink, or green, or tall, or puce. Shoes help, and then get polish. Shoes are not me. Shoes are not in my wallet. Clothes are not simple like shoes. Black and brown shoes know the world, have felt its pavements and stones, airports and cafes, its cool airs and clever hands. Shirts hug and leave a curve just so. Skirts are not afraid to raise or ruffle or fall. But shoes adventurize, and seem to destabilize some who see them. So, some shoes have sequins, and walking green and orange is not walking black and brown. There is one orange shirt, and it is tangerine.
