Dear Boys Harassed by Foley,

I wish you strenth and perserverance. I wish you the knowledge that this man had no right to insinuate himself in your lives in this way. I wish you the knowledge that you are not responsible in any way for his illness or his behavior. You were just going about your lives, doing good work, being civically minded. That these men kept this secret for so long was a betrayal. That Foley harassed you in this way was a betrayal. And it was a choice. I hope they come to live with the consequences of that choice and learn a thing or two about real decency in the process. In the meantime, as the nation begins to focus on this, I wish you strength and lots and lots of privacy.
