"Um, yeh, like, I'd like to exchange this paradigm? It's tew scratch-ehy."

What's Going Right?

Lots of things. I offer this little list because all my dreams lately have had one theme: frustration, road blocks, not getting there, etc. Fortnately, they're all so far out that none have that 'oh, this could happen in a year's time' feel to them.

1. Tikkun offers the Global Marshall Plan: use reason and generosity to make the world Better (and more secure). On first read, it looks marvelous to me. It will require that many leaders undergo an internal and personal paradigm shift. But, that's what Tikkun is all about.

2. Oprah and Tolle's classes on A New Earth. Fleur bought the book, I'm handling the internet witchery for her. This means I'm reading the book. I'm glad. There's people to process with, there's a workbook. This prevents me from my intellectual's habit of being satisfied with just reading. While I sometimes get that Oprah eye-roll tic, there is no denying that this book and these classes mean that there is a world wide community of people reaching for the paradigm shift Tikkun is also pushing. On which point, also the work at the Integral Institute.

3. The US primaries. I know, that sounds insane, but check out Mark Morford's take on the Obama phenom. We are not dead of soul, so yay for us.

4. There's Guernica Magazine. Nooks and crannies of consequence, and lots of interviews with writers. It's smart but not stupid-smart art and politics and culture mag. Have some. Muslim punk scene in the US, anyone?

So, a reminder that not everything is a road block. Though on behest of M, I have been reading Dewey's Art as Experience before bed. One good line on this subject is that Resistance is not just an obstacle to be overcome, but a signal of a moment to reflect more fully. Also, props to Dewey for being a philosopher whose aesthetics are not bonkers.
