About the Elections

A piont I find missing in the analysis during the primaries: if you get a Dem in the White House, either one, you will also need a whopping majority of Dems in the Congress (both House and Senate {drives me bonkers how "congress" has come to mean "the house"}) in order to get either Obama's or Clinton's agendas through.

Let's not forget the support the Huckster is getting. He doesn't believe in science, and doesn't care for women's rights, GLBT rights. We've had two terms of That. And his "fair tax," oh now that's a fix. --- The Rep coalition has fractured, not died a timely death.

Even with the expanded powers of the Exectuive Branch the Dem will inherit (many of which she or he should recind because they are just wrong), it's not ominpotent.

So, while we're flipping out, we Dems, over the historical Boutny facing us, we also need to look to the next set of races.

Of course, we could abolish the filibuster.

Naw, fillibuster is too fun to say, and frankly one of the strangest quirks of our system that I want it kept. --- I'm acutally not sure whether or not I'm joking.
