Bother and bloody hell. The comments on that post just below are CK Operations Genius and I about Dove and their realistic beauty campaigns. YAY! for realistic beauty. BOOOOO for testing on animals. DAMMIT, what. What? We KNOW which chemicals in which combinations boil eyeballs and melt hair and turn skin inside out and cause cancer of the nose hair follicles. We Know this. And more, we can run simulations on skin grown in petri dishes or probably in computer simulations of molecules combining. We have massive CGI computers and programs to create special effects of that level of gore for movies: why not use all that tech to save the bunnies? Huh? What in the name of all that is holy is the need for torturing critters over culturally encouraged (in)secure feminine vanity?? Really. This late in the game? Just for profit margins? Embarrassing. Shameful.
Sooo, CK Ops Genius sent me this link. In a former incarnation she worked in ethical consumption, is a practicing vegan and has oodles more EcoLoving street cred than I do. Go here. Buy well. If you weren't already hip.
The Caring Consumer.
No dis to you, Mystk. I grocked your point. It was a good point, for which you get all kinds of feminist and gal-friendly points. For which I like you more than I did a few days ago. Just turns out Dove is not all sunshine and ideal goodness.
