The Writing Nook, now with broadband! Yes, the price of the Gen X sabbatical is the French Provincial furniture your mother insisted on when you were 5. To be fair, that was my mom's desk when she was a kid. So, you know, it's tradition and all. On the floor there are the books on Stein through which I have now skimmed well. Ideas are germinating. Can't tell whether I should reread my own literary theory first, or just dive into writing. Ah, hesitation. GOOD NEWS: one of the presses (the one I really want to publish The Book) got back to me, peer review of the proposal is underway, editor is looking forward to sending me comments. It's not a contract, but it IS a move in the right direction!!! Yes, rejection is part of the game. I have stay ready for that without expecting it too much.

Cat in Box, you know, where cats often are. That it's a wine box will not surprise anyone. That the cat looks a bit peeved also will not shock. She's part Himalayan, she's always a bit peeved.

Grandma Flutterby (TM by SB) Quilt Under Reconstruction. Gma gave this quilt to the 'rents when I was born. About six of the butterflies are still original. Restoration continues, one bug per night when in the mood to embroider.

The Shire Is Pretty Even When Cold, or How I Do Not Miss Having the Stein Mart Sign for a Sunset. How I do not miss it. Not at all. Nobody is anybody who misses the sign very much. (yeh, i'll slip into Steinian too often, promise)
