Jack (my pet name for patri-...) is not concerned about class, as per several posts at Bitch, about the poverty, exposure to evironmental toxins, an all that cause most infant mortality. Jack is concerned to control women. The rhetoric in the WaPo piece is clear, unmistakable. As per several posts, the idea that "pre-pregnant" become a normative descriptor of women means, can only mean, that one is awaiting pregnancy --all the time.
Subtler means, yes, but a gesture at the social and personal control of women, ntl.
Where are the headlines about men considering themselves pre-batterers, and taking conscious steps to learn to avoid battering women?
Seriously.
